EZ Skin Bundle: Full-Wrap Silicone Skin for EZ Pass Black Interlocking Strips = Discreet Look Inside & Outside Your Windshield! (Fits EZ Pass Mini/iPass)

I’ve been using this EZ Skin Bundle for a couple of months now. It is still the best option I have found to conceal my ugly, white, I-PASS/EZ-PASS transponder. I have a black interior, so I was looking for a black option. The black silicone retains its shape well and is a nice snug fit over the transponder. The silicone appears to be the perfect thickness. It’s not too thin as to be delicate, and it’s not thick enough to add any noticeable bulk to the transponder.Prior to purchasing this EZ Skin Bundle, I used to mount the transponder to the windshield. This time I mounted it to back of my rear view mirror to make it less noticeable. From outside the car you can’t even see it is there, and it can only bee seen inside from the passenger seat. The silicone skin blends in extremely well with the interior, so it doesn’t really stand out.My only issue is with the included black interlocking adhesion strips. The transponder fell off after only six weeks. The adhesive material completely failed. I have never had this happen the with free clear 3M Dual Lock adhesive strips that come free with the I-PASS/EZ-PASS. This makes me wonder if these really are 3M strips or if they are a lower grade of 3M product. When I put the included black strips on that came with this kit, they did seem to be not as high quality as the clear ones I get for free with my transponder. I have since replaced them with black 3M Dual Lock strips that I purchased from my local hardware store. Unfortunately, the only black 3M Dual Lock strips I could find are only black for the plastic and white for the adhesive strip. The strips I purchased seem to adhere significantly better, but only time will tell. So far I have only had it mounted with the new strips I purchased for about three weeks.If I had to do it over again, I would purchase just the EZ Skin, not the bundle. I would buy larger size pieces of black 3M Dual Lock, cut a big piece(s) to fill the back area of the exposed transponder, and then mount it to back of my rear view mirror again. This way I would have a large adhesion area, and it would give me a bit more flexibility to adjust the transponder position as needed.If the included black adhesion strips did not fail, I would have given this EZ Skin Bundle five stars. I took one star off for the failed adhesion strips. With that being said, EZ Skin still has the best option I have seen for a black color solution.
