InDash Mount for Select Ford and Mercury Vehicles – Black

As a product, this Panavise mount is excellent. It’s good, strong metal, with a nice finish. My only complaint is the location and way it mounts. It uses existing mount points behind the radio panel on the Ford Explorer (mine is a 2007 Eddie Bauer). It’s too thick to seat the panel properly, and if you have a radio with a double DIN video display, it blocks the display for the passenger. Something my wife hates if she’s waiting for me in the SUV and can’t see the screen! If it was moved down near the heater controls, it would be a better spot, but I’m not sure the existing mount points in the SUV could be utilized.It will also wobble quite a bit if the road is rough. It’s stiff enough to withstand it, but the whole rig vibrates back and forth. I slid a Bic-style pen cylinder between the bracket and the edge of the trim and that cut down on it.Overall, I am pleased with the product.
