Description Early 1900s tamper This early 1900s tamper is signed “The Kramer Bros Fdy Co., Dayton, OH“. It was used by construction people and landscapers to firmly pack dirt, clay, sand, etc. When we saw it, we knew it would make a unique floor lamp, so we repurposed it and kept it out of the landfill. We added a vintage wooden finial and a square cloth shade to complement the square base. In addition, we added an on/off pull-chain switch to make it easy to operate. This could make a great gift for someone who might have used (or is still using) a tamper in his or her profession, or for someone who’s environmentally conscious and appreciates repurposed items. Perfect for ambiance, as an accent piece, for reading, for an entranceway, or for any purpose you might have. It stands 63 1/2″ to the top of the finial, and the base is 7″ square. The shade is 6 1/4″ across the top, 12″ across the bottom, and 9 3/4″ high. Newly wired.
